They evaluate residents with a variety of conditions including pressure ulcers, surgical wounds, ostomies, and rashes. Treatments encompass dressing changes but may also include wound vac therapy and special pressure relieving mattresses or cushions.
Our skin is the largest organ of our body and requires special care. The wound care nurse takes a holistic approach to not only treat an existing wound, but to prevent skin issues moving forward.
